Some people are enjoying the last time skiing this year as Blue Mountain resort near Collingwood re-opened this weekend.
And some people are not wearing helmets on the slopes.
The subject of helmets on ski hills became a hot topic after three people were killed on the slopes this Winter.
A 17 year old London girl died at Blue Mountain in March and a 13 year old exchange student from Korea died at Snow Valley resort in February.
One was wearing a helmet — the younger boy was not.
Many people called on the provincial government to look at making ski helmets mandatory.
But Premier Dalton McGuinty balked at the idea.
Many of our listeners agree the decision should be left to the skier.
62 per cent of the respondents to our online news poll said they didn’t want the government to tell them what to do.
But many people who made up the other 38 per cent of respondents said making ski helmets mandatory would save lives.
