Bruce County Councillors continue to look at the budget.
Members took another look at the draft document yesterday.
Two weeks ago, they deferred finalizing the budget out of concern that more information was needed about new staff that could be hired, and other expenditures.
County Councillor Larry Kraemer says a few small changes were made and councillors had the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on the budget.
The Kincardine Mayor says around 75 thousand dollars in spending has been removed from the budget.
One of the items councillors cut at Wednesday’s meeting was 50 thousand dollars to do official plan upgrades on a yearly basis.
Kraemer says none of the spending on hiring new staff was cut because not all of the department heads were able to be at the meeting.
He says they didn’t want to make decisions without having them there to answer questions from council.
Bruce County Council will likely spend another half hour discussing the budget during today’s committee meetings.
