Brockton ratepayers will see a difference in their tax bills this year.
Mayor Charlie Bagnato says included in the bill will be a breakout of the assessment going towards doctor recruitment.
Bagnato says they’re trying to be as transparent as possible and he believes the recruitment costs should be on the tax bill since everyone is affected by health care.
He says on an average assessment the levy will be 16 dollars for recuiting purposes.
Bagnato says he hasn’t heard much comment on the idea but the tax bills aren’t out yet.
He says he expects a few comments to be made but he believes most people will be amenable to the concept.
Meanwhile Bagnato says they haven’t had a new doctor in the community for a couple of years but they do have a couple they are talking to.
No further information was revealed.
He says you almost have to be “clandestine” about these procedures because you’re competing with other communities.
He says you just hope that your community comes up a winner.
