A good news story for the Bruce Grey Catholic School Board.
The Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board boasts a grad rate of more than 90 per cent.
That easily surpasses Ontario’s 77 per cent average.
Director of Education Bruce MacPherson calls it a real team effort.
He credits the literacy, numeracy and student success programs in place at both the elementary and secondary levels.
These programs have been made possible through its partnerships with the Bluewater, York Catholic and the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic school boards.
By networking with larger school boards, MacPherson says have managed to gain valuable resources for students and staff.
MacPherson notes the board has worked to achieve the high graduation rate.
While the province is striving for an 85 per cent graduation rate by the 2010-11 year, MacPherson says they want to hit 100 per cent.
