Collingwood is the target for Habitat for Humanity’s 2010 build in our area.
Habitat Chair Gerry Deleskie says it all started when Collingwood Council started looking at affordable housing in 2002.
He says the land is the most expensive part of the process, and hopefully council will be able to help them out in that aspect.
Deleskie says they’ve been able to in the past.
He says the upcoming build in Stayner is an experiment to see if they can do 2 builds at the same time.
If the Stayner build works well, Deleskie says they’ll do it in Collingwood too.
He says they have almost 300 applications for that Stayner build.
You can fill out an application at the Re-Store, which is celebrating it’s second anniversary.
