A one day rolling strike by Red Cross Homecare workers will hit Owen Sound today.
About 120 members of the Union representing the workers are in the Owen Sound area and take care of an average of five to six clients each.
They provide services at home to seniors, people with disabilities, people recovering from surgery and children with special needs.
Some of the possible sites for further strikes include Toronto, Windsor, Sarnia, Sault Ste. Marie, North Bay, Timmins, Peterborough, Cornwall and Burlington.
The union says the McGuinty government has adopted a system that leaves the professionals who provide key home health services living below the poverty line.
