Today is World Water Day — a day to draw attention to those without access to safe drinking water.
For most of us, it’s a short walk to the faucet in the kitchen, or bottled water in the refrigerator.
But for more than a billion people — or about 1 in 6 people — have trouble getting water.
A number of water protection groups have highlighted some of the things you and your family can do to conserve and preserve our clean water supply.
For example — reduce water use in your yard and water your lawn or garden in the morning or evening.
Don’t use your sinks and drains as trash cans.
Check for leaky pipes and faucets.
If you are renovating your home — look at low flow and water efficient appliances that save you money in the long run.
