Two people from Wasaga Beach were lucky to escape a fire this morning.
Captain Butch McLaughlin of the Wasaga Beach fire department, says a man and woman got to safety just as fire broke out in the bathroom and attic of their cottage on River Road East between Zoo Park Road and Brown’s Lane.
McLaughlin says it looks like the fire was caused by an electrical problem in a vent in the ceiling of an upstairs bathroom and there is quite a bit of roof damage.
He says he estimates the damage at 10 thousand dollars, but there’s been no official report on that yet.
