The business must be run successfully, a journal has to be complete, and a cash flow has to be operated.
They also of course, keep all profits made.
Help is available during the summer at all stages of the business from business training to marketing and accounting.
The deadline to apply is May 4th online on the Summer Company website.
Applications are reviewed as they are received; it is a competitive process with limited space and funding.
Roote says seven students in Bruce County utilized the program last summer.
Some businesses included, jewellery and beach bag making/selling, lawncare, and lessons from dance to horseback riding.
