Another day — another way scammers are trying to separate you from your hard earned money.
This time its a tax scam.
Grey County OPP have been alerted to this new scam that coincides with the arrival of tax information and refunds.
Police say the intended victim will receive an email looking as if it came from the Canada Revenue Agency stating you’re in line for a tax refund.
The recipient is also required to provide certain information before the refund can supposedly be processed.
It asks for several pieces of information including social insurance number, credit card number and other banking information.
The email also sends victims to a link that actually uses the CRA’s official graphics and logo however spelling errors and other inconsistencies give it away.
