Saugeen Shores continues to proceed with earlier announced improvements to it’s sewage system.
A tender has been awarded for over 2.5 million dollars to Allen-Hastings Limited to build the new sewage pumping station on the 10th Concession.
Another tender has also been awarded for over 3.3 million to build the new sewer mains for the new station.
That job has gone to Omega Contractors Inc.
Both tenders were the lowest ones submitted.
Mayor Mike Smith is satisfied with the amounts as he expects construction costs to increase as the year goes on when contractors start competing for projects funded by the federal and provincial money being made available for infrastructure.
