More seniors in Kincardine will be tech savy soon.
Huron Bruce MP Ben Lobb presented the municipality with a cheque Saturday for more than fifteen thousand dollars.
He presented the cheque at the Davidson Centre on behalf of the Ministry of Resources and Skills Development to the Kincardine Area Seniors Advisory/Action Committee.
The money comes from the government under the New Horizons for Seniors Program, and ensures seniors have a chance to participate and take an active leadership role within their community.
In this case, it will benefit a mentoring project in Kincardine, where older adults teach their peers computer skills such as internet banking, shopping and emailing.
Since its inception, the New Horizons for Seniors Program has funded more then 42 hundred projects in communities across Canada.
