Simcoe-Grey’s MPP wants the McGuinty Government to introduce a three month sales tax holiday on new car and truck purchases.
Conservative Jim Wilson says it will get inventory moving, re-establish factory production, and help out parts suppliers too.
And he says the idea isn’t new, adding the PC government put the same idea in place in 1980.
Wilson says there are thousands of area jobs depending on the auto industry, and this is a practical solution that would put money in the pocket of consumers, and keep local workers in their jobs.
