The Burgeo, Newfoundland skating club has 700 pounds of equipment on the way from Bruce and Grey to help them out.
Kincardine area resident Sandra Clough has been collecting the goods for her daughter, RCMP Constable Trish Clough stationed in Burgeo.
Trish is one of two skating coaches who started the club after incredible interest was shown by the local children.
The problem was the kids didn’t have figure skates or costumes and that sort of thing and that’s where mom came in.
Sandra says she was astounded at the outpouring from everyone in Bruce and Grey.
Clough says 87 pairs of girls figure skates along with 7 pairs of boys figure skates, plus costumes to put on pageants was donated.
Clough says an unidentified man from Owen Sound even donated four bags full of road hockey equipment for the kids as well.
The equipment is on its way to Newfoundland and should be in Burgeo sometime this week.
