The Ontario branch of the Bruce Grey Owen Sound Green Party is now accepting nominations for its first ever Business Excellence Awards.
Green Party of Ontario spokesperson Susanna Suchak says its their first annual so they’re not exactly sure what kinds of entries they’re going to get.
She says they’re looking for businesses who exemplify what the Green Party stands for including social justice, grassroots democracy, equality and ofcourse environmental responsibility.
Suchak says there are plenty of opportunities these days for companies to be green and lucrative at the same time.
She uses the example of Canada importing wind turbines from Europe when she says we’re perfectly capable of making them ourselves in this country.
The deadline for nominations is this Sunday.
Winners will be announced at the Green Party of Ontario’s AGM in May.
