It’s time again to recognize the best and the brightest in local agriculture.
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2008 Tommy Cooper Award, recognizing an individual from Grey or Bruce County for his or her outstanding contribution to farming and farm life.
The award is presented annually by Bayshore Broadcasting and the Owen Sound Sun Times.
Tommy Cooper was a 39-year veteran of local agriculture work, serving as a provincial government farm extension worker in Grey County.
Cooper is widely accredited for helping area farmers adapt to new scientific and mechanical innovations.
He was also instrumental in founding the Grey Bruce Livestock Co-operative, and worked with many commodity organizations.
The deadline to have your nomination form back to Bayshore Broadcasting is 5 PM on Friday, March 20th, 2009

The Tommy Cooper award will be handed out at the Elmwood Community Centre on Friday April 3rd, 2009 at 6:30 PM.
The special guest speaker this year is Megan Schlorff, a double gold winner in a Canada-wide science fair for her project “Let the River Flow”.
