Some tense moments Wednesday in downtown Markdale, after a small child was struck by a car .
Luckily the child suffered only minor injuries.
It happened about 3:30 PM just off Highway 10 on Main street in Markdale.
Markdale OPP say a car turned off the main highway and at the same time a 4 year old boy ran across the street between parked cars and behind stopped eastbound traffic.
The car driver didn’t see the boy and struck him as he entered the lane.
Fortunately, having just rounded the corner, the speed of the car was relatively slow.
The child was transported to Markdale hospital where he was treated and released with minor injuries.
No charges will be filed against the 58 year old Grey Highlands driver.
