Grey County OPP say thanks to media coverage and response from the public – charges have now been laid in a hit and run just outside Owen Sound.
Bayshore Broadcasting news first told you about the incident the day it happened, Thursday February 5th.
OPP say at about 2 o’clock in the afternoon, a car was rounding a curve in Georgian Bluffs when it was hit by an oncoming car that had crossed over the centre line.
Both vehicles were destroyed and an elderly Wiarton couple were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
However, the driver that hit them took off on foot.
Grey County OPP, in conjunction with Saugeen Shores Police Service, have now arrested 3 people.
Police say after information came in from the public, they were able to identify the driver as a 17 year old boy from Georgian Bluffs.
He is charged with failure to remain, failure to report an accident, careless driving, driving without a licence, and taking a vehicle without consent.
And as a result of the investigation, Saugeen Shores Police have charged an 18 year old boy and 17 year old girl from Saugeen Shores.
