Brockton has renewed its agreement with Veolia Water to operate the municipality’s water treatment and sewage facilities.
The agreement is in effect until 2011.
Waste water from the Brick Brewery in Formosa is treated at municipal facilities and it is a source of revenue for Brockton.
Mayor Charlie Bagnato says they were told three months ago that the municipality made 50 thousand dollars over the past three years for processing the brewery waste.
Bagnato says the cost of the contract with Veolia has increased but the revenue from processing the brewery waste will only go down slightly.
Councillor Dan Gieruszak says he wants to be sure the extra cost of the contract are covered by the revenue the municipality gets from treating the brewery waste.
