Wiarton students are getting a chance to participate in the arts.
The Town of South Bruce Peninsula is introducing a performing arts camp over March break.
During the week of March 16th, students between the ages 9 and 14 are able to participate in a performing arts camp.
Town of South Bruce Peninsula recreation programmer, Mike Squier says the camp will feature singing, acting and dancing.
Squier says he wanted to give students more variety in after school activities.
Squier says he looked at what was being offered in the area and thought they were lacking in the arts and culture department.
He says recreation doesn’t always have to do with sports and physical activity.
The five day long camp is 100 dollars per participant.
Squier says on the last day of the program, students will perform to an audience showcasing what they’ve learned.
The camp will be run Christy’s Stage Door, a well known company out of Barrie.
Students can sign up at the Town of South Bruce Peninsula Town Hall in Wiarton until March 11th or until all 20 spots are filled.
