There is a big party this summer in Creemore.
Former students from Creemore will be coming to town for a reunion.
It’s taking place on Saturday August 1st, and wraps up on August 2nd.
John Montgomery is part of the reunion committee, and he says he was a student at the tall school in Creemore, which was for students from grades K to 5.
It was built in 1917, and Montgomery says they used to have to use a seperate boys and girls entrance.
He says they are looking for people from 1917 onwards, and the cutoff for the reunion this year is 1977.
Montgomery says they have the big bash every 5 years, and there were 396 people at the last reunion.
He says they have sent out more than 12 hundred invitations for this year so far, and it’s a great opportunity to renew acquaintances and see how everyone is doing.
But Montgomery says it is impossible to get everyone back.
The weekend starts with a registration at the old school starting at 1 o’clock. That’s followed by a catered dinner in the evening, along with a dance.
The reunion ends on sunday with a community church service.
