Another successful fundraiser for Mission Zimbabwe.
11 thousand dollars were raised and over 200 people attended a dinner and silent auction for the cause on Valentine’s Day in Chesley.
All proceeds go towards the Village of Hope, an orphanage and school near Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe.
Many of the children it serves have been affected by the AIDS epidemic sweeping Africa.
Another fundraiser for Mission Zimbabwe 2009 will be a Maple Syrup Festival.
It will take place on Saturday March 21st at Cedar Rail Camp on the Grey-Bruce County Line outside of Chesley.
In May of this year, the local Mission Zimbabwe 2009 group will be travelling to the Village of Hope to spend two weeks working with the people and the children there.
The funds raised locally will be delivered at that time.
