Kincardine has decided to use the same engineer for municipal projects for the next five years.
Council has approved awarding the contract for general engineering services to B.M. Ross and Associates.
Councillor Ron Hewitt did not support the decision.
He says the five-year contract doesn’t save the municipality any money and doesn’t guarantee anything beyond continuity in engineering services.
Hewitt says it eliminates the possibility of using other firms for certain projects.
He says Kincardine isn’t gaining anything out of the process, but however believes the work B.M. Ross does is very good and will serve the municipality well.
Council has also chosen R.J. Burnside and Associates to provide drainage engineering work for the municipality for the next five years.
