The Strategic Plan for Collingwood has been drafted.
And Councillor Kathy Jeffrey says she’s thrilled.
She says the plan is an implementation tool for the philosophy of the Sustainable Community Plan, and it will cary through to next term.
Jeffrey says it focuses on isolating active transportation, and sustainability goals as well.
She stresses it also provides continuity, and they are starting to see that in projects that are underway.
Jeffrey says they had 6 representatives on committee, plus the consultant, and have been working hard on the plan for the past 6 months, although the plan was in the planning stages as soon as council was inaugurated.
She says it took longer than anticipated, but the good news is they’re on right track now, and this gives them a much better planning tool.
Jeffrey says the plan will now come back as a staff report, and will hopefully be adopted.
