The community of Woolwich hopes to be Canadas next Kraft Hockeyville and in order to win the prize they are asking assistance from our broadcast region.
Woolwich, which is comprised of a number of small towns & villages, the biggest being Elmira, have been decorating their homes, neighborhoods, schools and businesses with pride in their effort to become Hockeyville!
Voting for Hockeyville begins on Saturday at 11 PM and runs through March 4th.

The Woolwich Campaign is called the ” Drive for 5.5 “
Organizers set a goal of 5.5 million votes to crown Woolwich as Canadas next Kraft Hockeyville 2009.
The eventual winning community selected as ” Hockeyville ” will win a prize of $100,000 and an NHL Pre- Season game to be played in their arena.
Former Owen Sound Plater captain Dan Snyder was an Elmira native who had a positive impact on community life during his 4 years in Owen Sound.
Snyder, who died as a result of a car crash in 2003, is fondly remembered in the area for hockey and community contributions.
Dan Snyder’s father, Graham, is among the very active members of the Woolwich ” Hockeyville ” bid and he was in Owen Sound last week, asking area hockey fans to cast their votes in favor of the Elmira region.
The 2009 Kraft Hockeyville winner will be revealed on CBCs Hockey Night in Canada, on Saturday March 7th.
