It seems like just about every week we hear about online fraud — this week is no different.
The OPP are warning you to be very careful answering emails.
It’s not a new fraud, just a lot more convincing.
Police say fraudsters are using emails and websites that look very genuine and similar to major banks.
They send unsolicited emails to your work or home that your bank is having difficulties with credit cards or accounts.
The emails look very genuine and as you to click on a link that takes you to an authentic looking website.
Then you are asked to provide personal information and financial information.
Police remind you to never do that.
Financial Groups never send email messages to access personal information from their customers.
