Blue Mountains Resort, along with Craigleith Ski Club and Glen Eden, are trying out an Ontario program aimed at curbing emissions at ski resorts.
The three resorts are being used to pilot the program by the Ontario Snow Resorts Association, with support from Natural Resources Canada.
Students from the University of Waterloo’s Faculty of the Environment monitored levels of emissions at the resorts in January.
They’ll be back this weekend to encourage changes, and then measure them.
OSRA President Bruce Haynes says they’re hoping to reduce idling time at the resorts by up to five per cent.
