The Orillia Fire Department responded to an apartment fire on Dunlop Street today and say working smoke alarms helped save lives.
Around noon, the department reported the blaze at 68 Dunlop was under control and that there were no injuries.
The blaze was contained – an early smoke migration plan minimized damage to the building.
Motorists were asked to steer clear of the area for the investigation.
The department says early detection by working smoke alarms saved lives.
