OPP will be out on area waterways this weekend.
The OPP is partnering with other police services to patrol Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe.
With hot weather forecasted, police are preparing for increased boat traffic.
They’re reminding boaters to take personal responsibility for their safety and the safety of others.
This includes always wearing a life jacket, not boating while on drugs or under the influence of alcohol and checking the weather before you head out.
It’s always a good idea to have the required safety equipment on board too.
