The Director of Education for the Avon Maitland District School Board says school will look relatively normal, when kids return to class in September.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce announced schools in smaller communities, including those in Huron and Perth counties, would be welcoming back students five days a week, when classes resume following the Labour Day weekend.
Dr. Lisa Walsh says students between Grades 4 and 12 will be required to wear face masks, while face coverings will be encouraged for younger students.
To adjust to life in class during the COVID-19 oubreak, Walsh suggests parents teach kids to avoid touching their mask.
Proper hand washing technique is also recommended teaching for students, before the start of class.
The AMDSB is also requiring parents and guardians to provide feedback on their child’s intentions for the school year by Wednesday, in response to a letter sent home last week.
Walsh says the responses will help the AMDSB group kids more safely, and create an effective bus schedule for students.
