Rebuilding a province without fear.
That’s what $6 million in Provincial money invested into projects to combat human trafficking, sexual, gang and domestic violence aims to do.
The money is going back into the community after it was seized from the prosecutions of crime.
It will be put to work at local police detachments such as the South Simcoe Police, who will train officers to collect intelligence on gangs and organized crime.
MPP for Simcoe North Jill Dunlop says the Province is providing police with the equipment they need.
“The steady increase in domestic violence, human trafficking and sexual violence is alarming and completely unacceptable,” said Dunlop.
Today, Premier Doug Ford had a message to all criminals:
“Were coming after you, and we’ll throw the book at you and we’re going to put you behind bars,” he said.
Ford says the money will be provided over three years for 21 safety initiatives in total.
We are taking $6M from the hands of criminals and using it to build safer communities and fight crime.
These funds will help implement 21 initiatives that stop:
