The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported a new death related to COVID-19.
It revealed in its latest update yesterday that a 90 year old woman from Penetanguishene died after contracting COVID-19 as a resident at Georgian Residences just over a week ago.
It’s the first COVID related death in the region since May 16.
There were also five new cases of the virus reported, which include residents from Barrie, Bradford West Gwillimbury, New Tecumseth, Oro-Medonte Township, and Ramara Township.
