The OPP says three people are lucky to be alive after a wheel smashed into the windshield of their pick-up truck while travelling on Highway 400.
Police say the accident happened on the highway around 12:30 p.m. on Monday near Innisfil Beach Road, where the wheel came off a vehicle travelling southbound, bounced into the northbound lane and collided with the truck.
All three occupants of the truck were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
No word yet on charges.
A few hours later, a transport truck lost a front wheel on Highway 11 SB at Severn Bridge.
