Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says that as of noon today, boarding of domestic flights and trains will be denied to people showing any symptoms related to COVID-19.
He said all Canadians are being asked to remain home as much as possible, especially anyone with symptoms of COVID-19.
Those symptoms include fever and cough.
However, the PM said it will be up to the companies to ensure the new rules are followed.
Asked why buses and coaches that also travel across provincial lines were not subject to the same measures, Trudeau responded that the new restrictions would only apply to industries that are under federal jurisdiction.
