Huron County OPP have laid charges, following a house fire in Goderich deemed suspicious.
First responders were called to a fire at a home on Bennett Street East on July 24th, where fire officials were able to extinguish the blaze.
No one was home at the time, but reports say a large dog was rescue from within the basement.
Initial estimates peg the damage at around $100 thousand.
Police have now charged a 23 year old Goderich man with arson, causing injury to an animal, and failing to comply with a probation order.
