We’ll hear next week the Province’s plan for what school will look like in the fall.
That from Education Minister Stephen Lecce today, who said the plans are being finalized now for a safe resumption come the fall.
“We intend to announce the plan for the safe resumption to class that will be equipped with strong health and safety measures in short order,” said Lecce.
In the meantime, the Province unveiled a $500 million plan to build 30 new schools and make permanent additions to 15 existing facilities, supporting over 25,000 student spaces across the province.
Lecce says it’s part of a $12 billion commitment over the next decade to build new schools and upgrades.
Lecce adds that more info will be coming about the safe, day-to-day ‘new conventional’ return to school plan next week.
Internet is also to be connected to every high school in Ontario by this September.
Today we are investing over $500M to build 30 new schools, making permanent additions to 15 existing schools in Ontario, and generating 900 new childcare spaces.
We’re making smart investments today to ensure students are supported for years to come. https://t.co/JCeGlS5PoH pic.twitter.com/CxI9rpkJ6H
