Premier Doug Ford says Ontario’s new Intellectual Property Action Plan will ensure that big ideas created here will remain in the Province.
Ford announced the new plan today, saying Ontario wants to keep the value of all our homegrown ideas at home.
“Because too often, the priceless intellectual property developed here in Ontario gets bought up by the big US or International firms,” he said.
Ford adds that Ontario has the best and brightest minds anywhere in the world.
To back that up, he said there are currently 20 cutting edge Covid-19 research programs at the ready here in Ontario.
Ford says they include focuses such as using math models to find strategies to fully reopen the economy without starting a second wave.
Today I’m meeting with innovators in the #Waterloo Region who’ve stepped up during COVID-19.
We’re taking steps to ensure ALL Ontarians benefit from local research and innovation.
