A large black bear that was wandering a Barrie neighborhood this morning has been safely sedated.
Barrie Police confirm that the MNR was able to sedate it in a backyard around 10 am off Little Avenue.
The bear caused concern amongst some residents this morning as it was seen wandering across lawns in the suburban neighborhood starting around 5:30 am.
At one point, Barrie Police on Twitter asked residents to stay indoors as they handled the situation.
Police say the bear will now be loaded onto a special trailer and relocated.
