The MPP for Huron-Bruce has joined a committee to modernize Ontario, during the coronavirus-prompted economic downturn.
Lisa Thompson says she has joined the Future State of Modernization committee.
Thompson tells Country 104.9 News the committee will be speaking with counties and municipalities over the coming months to determine how they can increase efficiencies in operations.
The COVID-19 outbreak prompted local elected officials to begin holding meetings via telephone and video conference.
Thompson says the coronavirus has created an opportunity for Ontario’s local governments to exercise best practices following the pandemic.
