The City of Orillia is extending the timeframe of certain community assistance measures and restrictions until July 5, 2020.
Mayor Steve Clarke says they are opening the Waste Diversion Site on Saturdays to accommodate those working throughout the week, and in response to large gatherings occurring at the Kiwanis Skateboard Park, the city is now enforcing a limit of five (5) users at one time at the park.
The City of Orillia also reminds residents that all beaches remain closed at this time.
Clarke added, “Our citizens need to understand, the fact that these emergency measures have been extended means that we are very much still under the threat of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. There will be a second wave and our behaviour now will depict how hard that ‘wave’ hits us.”
