Do us all a favor and go get tested.
That’s the advice Premier Doug Ford had today for the crowds who gathered at Trinity Bellwoods Park in Toronto this past Saturday.
While he says he won’t punish the whole province because a group of people ended up getting together there, Ford says the people who did gather in defiance of emergency orders as set out by the Province should have had foresight and thought about not only themselves but their family members.
“My recommendation (for) anyone at Trinity-Bellwoods – why don’t you do us all a favor and go get tested now,” he said. “Go to a local hospital, assessment centre and get tested. And I encourage anyone who’se been in large gatherings like that and some of the stuff that was going on there – they need to get tested.”
Ford says hopefully this won’t happen again.
He also says it doesn’t make sense to have different sets of reopening rules for Ontario.
He says people from cities like Toronto will always travel into different areas.
Ford says 99 percent of Toronto residents have “been incredible” during the pandemic despite a few who have misbehaved.
I am so proud of the people of this province for stepping up during this challenging time. To every person involved in the May 16 Miracle – thank you for what you have done. This is the #OntarioSpirit@MonteMcNaughton @RickNichollsCKL https://t.co/PmlkMko8Ec
