Local seniors will be getting some assistance from the United Way Perth-Huron.
A $50 thousand fund from the Government of Canada will benefit organizations supporting seniors and caregivers across the two counties.
Among the programs are a mobile food bank, serving over 100 households in four communities each month, and “Telephone Reassurance” check-in calls for high-to- moderately-at-risk residents.
Meal and grocery gift card deliveries will also be made across Huron and Perth counties, along with subsidized respite services to prevent caregiver burnout.
