Premier Doug Ford has made a public plea, asking people to “please go get a test” for COVID-19, if they feel they need one.
Ford said yesterday, “I’m asking the people of Ontario, if you are worried if you have COVID-19, or that you’ve been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, even if you’re not showing symptoms, please go get a test.”
The announcement came as Ontario confirmed 460 new cases of COVID-19—- marking the highest new COVID-19 case count since May 8.
Meanwhile, city officials in Toronto are condemning the “dangerous” behaviour of people who flooded a popular downtown park on Saturday, saying they could cause a surge in COVID-19 cases.
Ford said he understands people are tired of being cooped up but added, “there is still a deadly virus amongst us.”
If you are worried you have #COVID19, or that you’ve been exposed to someone who has the virus please get tested. You will not be turned away. This is about protecting the health and safety of your loved ones. pic.twitter.com/b3bJrD6XZO
