There has been a tax error in Wasaga Beach.
The town says on Friday some residents on the pre-authorized payment (PAP) plan had a payment taken twice from their bank account due to a Treasury Department processing error.
The town’s staff processed a reversal of the duplicate payment the next day.
It says customers should see the funds back in their account within a few business days, depending on when their institutions process the online transaction.
A letter is being sent to all accounts affected by the duplicate payment transaction, which explains how to contact the town for a reimbursement of any costs incurred as a result of this error.
