Simcoe County has four new cases of COVID-19.
Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Charles Gardner, says two of the cases are still being processed. He says those cases need to be reviewed and followed-up so he can’t yet release the details.
But the two cases he does have information on are a woman in her 70’s from Orillia and a 52 year old man from Adjala-Tosorontio.
Gardner says the woman is what he calls a community acquired case which means travel is not involved. The woman is in the hospital in Orillia.
The man returned to Simcoe County from travelling to the U.S. and is at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket.
Not including the two cases being processed, Simcoe Muskoka has a total of 12 confirmed cases, three of which are community acquired.
Meanwhile, the hospital in Collingwood confirms two more positive outpatient cases of COVID-19.
Both were outpatients from the GTA who went to Collingwood General and Marine Hospital Emergency Department on March 13. The hospital says both patients had travelled outside Canada.
They were both sent home to self-isolate.
