A 53-year-old man is facing vehicle theft and flight from police charges after an incident in Huntsville.
Today at 4:35 am, OPP tried to conduct a traffic stop involving a pickup truck that was heading westbound on Highway 60 in the Hidden Valley area.
It didn’t stop and instead, OPP say the driver fled from police.
The truck eventually stopped and its driver then took off on foot.
He was apprehended and now 53-year-old James Rye of Huntsville faces several charges, including flight from police, vehicle theft, mischief to property, possession of break-in tools, two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, cocaine posession and various charges related to probation, release and court orders.
The accused is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
