
Members of the Town of Shelburne’s Local Business Working Group that have been meeting to work through the business impact of COVID-19 met this week with business owners.
Mayor Wade Mills says the virtual roundtable, which was designed to address some of the things businesses should be considering as they plan to reopen, went well.
Mills says they had about 20 participants that heard from four presenters.
David Logan from RBC provided an overview of the financial assistance packages that are available.
Bill Gillam from Shelburne Home Hardware gave a virtual tour of his facility and talked about the measures that he has implemented to address social distancing protocols and curb-side retail.
Dr. Chothani from Shelburne Optometry gave a very detailed presentation on the steps that businesses should be going through now in order to be prepared for re-opening.
Andrew Lewis from Shelburne Giant Tiger talked about his experiences operating the store during the pandemic and provided a practical checklist of things that should be considered to ensure the health and safety of customers and employees.
