The City of Owen Sound is asking residents, visitors, River District members and stakeholders to share their input to identify opportunities for streetscape infrastructure renewal as part of the River District Streetscape Renewal Plan.
The plan will identify opportunities to create a renewed streetscape and public spaces that support the River District as the city’s primary commercial area.
The focus of the plan is on streetscape infrastructure improvements, including seating, landscaping, wayfinding, lighting, public art, pedestrian amenities and other features that enhance the experience of River District streets and public spaces.
This project is part of a broader set of initiatives the city is undertaking to strengthen the area, improve safety and vibrancy, and support economic vitality. While the Streetscape Renewal Plan focuses on the design and improvement of public streets and spaces, the River District Action Plan Update is looking at broader priorities related to branding, management, promotion and experience development in the district.
The River District Streetscape Renewal Plan survey is open now and will remain available until 4:30 p.m. on November 3 at ourcity.owensound.ca/river-district-streetscape-renewal.
