Huron County received a report for the Bruce C Regional Municipal Readiness Assessment Fund.
The Assessment Fund is to promote regional coordination for anticipated growth associated with the proposed Bruce C expansion project, as well as to support studies that help municipalities prepare for potential growth.
That includes impacts to housing, transportation infrastructure, water and wastewater infrastructure, land development, labour and workforce development, and social infrastructure.
The report shows that Huron County was successful for three applications under the Bruce C fund: $55,000 for the Home Childcare Recruitment and Expansion Strategy, $75,000 for the Bruce C Growth and Transportation Readiness Study, and $75,000 for the County Employment Lands Study.
Under the funding agreements, all work must be completed by the end of 2027.
Staff will be working to prepare requests for proposals, and the final projects will be presented to county council once they are completed.
