Charges have been laid by Huntsville OPP in connection with an incident last month regarding the unsafe discharge of firearms on public land in the area of OFSC Trail 76 in the Township of Lake of Bays. Police were tipped off about individuals shooting rifles and handguns and operating a skeet thrower in close proximity to a nearby family cabin.
During the investigation, officers identified a rifle that had been classified as a prohibited firearm.
A 45 year old male from Brampton is charged with Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition and Breach of Firearms Regulation – Store firearm or restricted weapon.
The accused will be in a Bracebridge courtoom November 24th.
